Description When first introduced as a utility garment for miners and cowboys, the pleated denim waist overall was precisely that - a short layering piece to be worn with a matching 5-pocket jeans. Before fashions evolved, silhouettes got longer and slimmer, the denim jacket sat on the waist, square and comfortably boxy, perfect to layer over a shirt or tee and under a more substantial coat. In that spirit, our denim jacket sits right on the waist, complementing the long lines of a high-waisted trousers. Made in Okayama, Japan from 13.5oz right-hand selvedge denim, we have finished our jacket with original untreated steel buttons, that will age with the denim and the pure cotton thread, to be as classically vintage as you allow it to be. For work or play, our denim jacket is vintage for the generation you will one day pass it to.
