Empingated Knit Skirt

In collaboration with world renowned artist Carlos Luna, the Empingated Knit Skirt brings to life the themes of life, death, and the human struggle for survival, drawn from Luna’s work Empingated . The design depicts an anthropomorphic man, entangled in the jungle of life experiences, facing his own mortality. As death reaches out to him, the man hides a knife, attempting to fight against the inevitable. The concepts of life and death are represented by the phrases “La Vida” (Life) and “La Muerte” (Death). The artwork also includes the anglicized Cuban explicative “Pinga,” suggesting that the conflict between life and death is “F*cked.” This piece reflects the tension between life’s cyclical nature and the enduring struggle for control, offering a deep commentary on human existence.
