Mirror Mask - What I'm looking at (PRE-SALE Drop #02)
From Freddie Yauner
This is a pre-sale for the second drop of Masks, which will run until June 30th, when the masks will go into production and should arrive around the world by the end of July. What I’m Looking At is a mirrored mask that allows you to see what the wearer is looking at, reflecting colour, texture, light and movement. #whatimlookingat It is anti selfie - away from the self and back toward the world. You don’t see a face. You see a situated viewpoint with foreground and background, and the person wearing it embedded in that space. Following the success of Freddie’s films ( which have been viewed over 10 million times, with well over a million likes on Instagram ), and now 900 hundred others are making films and images - including the brilliant Dawn French! Freddie is creating a global image movement, and is putting live a pre-sale for the second drop of masks - inviting artists, creators, and observers to use the mask in their own way. Everyone has a story to tell. Share what you see. Share what the world sees. #whatimlookingat Press info
A mirrored mask shaped as a wide crescent that sits over the face, with two eye openings, reflecting whatever the wearer is looking at: colour, texture, light and movement. It is deliberately anti-selfie, turning attention away from the self and back toward the world, so you see a situated viewpoint with foreground and background rather than a face. This is the pre-sale for the second drop, with production once the window closes on 30 June and delivery around the end of July. It comes from the series behind Yauner's widely shared films, tagged #whatimlookingat.
